Dr. Scott Murray has provided orthodontic specialty care since 1981. A native of Visalia, California, he graduated from Mt. Whitney High School in 1972. Dr. Murray attended the University of California Davis, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology in 1976, after which he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Washington University in St. Louis. While in dental school, Dr. Murray developed an interest in orthodontics, which led him to acquire two years of orthodontic specialty training at the University of California at San Francisco. He finished in 1981.
As a lifelong learner, Dr. Murray takes several continuing education courses each year to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic technology. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest level of certification that an orthodontist can achieve.
An active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Tulare-Kings Dental Society, Roth-Williams International Society of Orthodontists, and Spear Education, Dr. Murray also serves as a consultant for the Craniofacial Clinic at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
Dr. Murray is married and has two grown children, Scott and Margaret. Now that his children have begun their own lives, Dr. Murray is able to devote even more of his energy to studying advancements in orthodontics. Dr. Murray is active in the community, supporting local charities, sports teams and many other of his patients' endeavors.
